Please wear party clothes with comfy shoes for dancing - sneakers encouraged! Fun cocktail attire suggested. Shoulders should be covered in the temple.
Services start promptly at 10:30 and will go until approximately 12:30. The party begins at the Residence Inn at 1:00 PM and goes until 5:00 PM.
Yes! If you are unable to join us in person, we can send you a link to join us via Zoom. Please make sure to let us know if you need this option!
You are welcome to come with your child to the morning service. Your child can also come to the service on their own. Please be sure to give your kiddo a run-down of what to expect, and brief them on general religious service etiquette (no talking during the service, silence all cell phones, etc.).
As for the party, we wish we could have absolutely everyone, but we are unfortunately limited by space. If the invitation has just your child's name on it, you can drop them off at the Residence Inn after services and pick them up by the end of the party (5:00 PM). We encourage you to carpool with other guests; we are happy to help you connect. If you have any concerns, please let us know!
A bat mitzvah is a formal event, like a wedding or quinceanera. In Jewish tradition, guests often gift money in increments of $18, a symbol of chai, which means "life" in Hebrew. It is also completely acceptable to round to normal amounts, or give a physical gift of your choice.
If you are planning to stay overnight, we encourage you to stay at the Residence Inn (click here for reservation information). We will be staying there, too! On Sunday morning, the hotel provides a breakfast buffet; we will be supplementing that with some special goodies for you to enjoy.
